01 / OVERVIEW

Video hosting for your own community.

Atomiser gives a community its own place to upload and watch video. Invites control membership, and authenticated accounts use role-based permissions.

The application includes local setup instructions and a deployment guide. A documented deployment path is useful operational guidance; it is not an independent assessment of production readiness.

02 / PROJECT FOCUS

What the work involves.

01

Membership and accounts

Invites can expire, have a use limit, and be revoked. Configurator, Admin, and Member roles sit alongside password sign-in, TOTP, WebAuthn passkeys, and session revocation.

02

A durable video workflow

Database-backed transcoding jobs create multiple playback qualities and thumbnails. Processing feedback shows progress, while the queue supports retries and recovery after a restart.

03

Community administration

Profiles, an activity feed, storage and video-status views, and an audit viewer support day-to-day use. Optional email adds invites, password resets, and new-video notifications.

03 / CURRENT STATE

Read the limits.

Review the setup and deployment requirements before running your own instance.

  • The README does not declare an alpha, beta, or stable release stage.
  • Local setup requires Python 3.12 or later and ffmpeg.
  • The detailed deployment guide targets a specific Linux setup. Review its configuration, TLS, backup, and security requirements.
